Agri Farm Services, Seed Division was established in April 2004. It was given the status of a registered seed company by Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Live Stock in May 2004. For the first two years cotton and wheat seeds were marketed under the brand name “Sitara Seeds”. Simultaneously research and development work was initiated leading towards production of other crop. seeds. With the expansion of seed business, Agri Farm, Seed Division was turned into an independent seed company in April 2006 under the name of “Sitara Seeds” as a member of Aziz Group. Today Sitara Seeds produces seeds of wheat, cotton, paddy, peas, okra, berseem, and hybrid forage sorghum. Recently, it has initiated international research collaboration with several well-reputed companies of USA, China, Serbia, and Hungary. This step has given Sitara Seeds an access to the best germ plasm for maize, sunflower, rice, peas, sorghum and vegetables.
